Ernst & Young plans to create 900 professional services jobsProfessional services organisation Ernst & Young has revealed that it is planning to boost its recruitment of graduates and those currently completing degrees.

Individuals seeking accountancy jobs in the UK and Ireland will be pleased to learn that the company is increasing hiring in this area by 30 per cent year on year during 2010.

New appointees will start with the business in 2011 and its firm's head of graduate recruitment for the two nations, Stephen Isherwood, explained: "There are still vacancies out there and the accounting firms, law firms and banks are just some of the organisations that are increasing their vacancy numbers for 2011 start dates."

Mr Isherwood also urged candidates to be flexible about where they are prepared to work, as good employment opportunities exist outside major capital cities in locations such as Southampton and Reading.

Meanwhile, further jobs could result from growth in mergers and acquisition activity recently reported by Ernst & Young during the first half of 2010.
